Each market treated as a separate case
Salsa was founded in Vila Nova de Famalicão in 1994 and has been part of the Sonae group since 2020. It generated revenue of 180 million euros in 2023 and 200 million in 2024, sells in around fifty countries and has more than one hundred and eighty own stores and more than one thousand two hundred multi-brand retailers, from Europe to the Middle East and from India to Japan.
Thirty years of operation leave behind layers of systems. The ones the brand had supported its growth up to a point, but they required each market to be handled as a separate case. The company needed its own commerce, mobile app and marketplaces to run on the same foundation, without stopping sales while the change took place.
The migration went market by market, without pausing sales
We led the migration to a Cloud architecture, phased by market, so that operations never stopped. The platform now supports international commerce at the scale that fifty countries require, and the brand's app joined the same system.
Order management was centralized, with automatic allocation to the most efficient source, whatever the continent. We have been Salsa's e-commerce platform since 2010, and our knowledge of the company's processes, its legacy systems and the tax rules of each market is what made it possible to carry out the change without interruptions.
Fifty countries with visibility over global inventory
Salsa now operates with an infrastructure that matches its size. The scale limitations that held back the growth of the digital channel are gone, and hundreds of stores in fifty countries are now managed with real visibility over global inventory.
It is the Portuguese fashion brand with the highest volume of international sales. As early as 2019, when the company announced its commitment to digitalization, the online channel accounted for between twelve and fifteen percent of revenue in Portugal and Spain.
Redicom has been our technology partner since 2010. They know Salsa, our processes and the requirements of each market where we operate. Beyond a platform, it is a relationship of trust that has allowed us to scale to fifty countries while staying consistent.
